For this platform (exact target): Designed as a direct functional replacement for the LocalTalk Option card in ImageWriter II and ImageWriter LQ printers. Follow the original Apple user guide and the project's model-specific connector-clearance notes.

JCM's current page offered fully assembled and board-only choices on 2026-07-24. A DIY build needs correctly selected jumpers, a programmed EEPROM and NVSRAM, suitable board clearance, and several vintage chips. The project recommends installing the original-style grounding wire.
