Check statusChecked Jul 30, 202664JPX JoyPad eXpanderby Nicholas Coplin / 64HDD

Safely translates Sega, NES, SNES, or legacy analog PC controllers for Commodore, Amiga, and Atari-style control ports.

The official page still displayed order instructions and prices from USD 14.95 for the chipless protection version through USD 36.95 for a combo interface with an adapter on 2026-07-30. However, its prominent post-COVID shipping notice and 2021 copyright are stale, and it says only that most items remain orderable. Contact 64HDD for exact version, stock, price, and postage before sending payment. SNES-to-JPX and PCanalog are companion adapters and remain in this product family.

Build itChecked Jul 30, 2026GenAssister V2by Evie Salomon / BackBit

Connects one six-button Sega Mega Drive or Genesis controller to both C64 or C128 control ports with port switching and extra button mappings.

BackBit says it no longer has capacity to build this former product and has released the design under GPL-3.0. The repository supplies KiCad board and schematic files, CUPL source, printable case files, and a bill of materials; a build also needs the listed ATF1502 CPLD and an ATDH1150USB programmer. The former store URL returned 404 twice, including after the required 60-second retry.

AvailableChecked Jul 30, 2026Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Controller Adapter Familyby SukkoPera / Gotek Retro / AMI64

Safely connects a Sega Mega Drive or Genesis controller to a Commodore 64, Commodore 128, or Amiga with configurable fire and jump mappings.

The open CERN OHL 1.2 project supplies design and fabrication files plus a bare-PCB ordering route. On 2026-07-30, Gotek Retro listed its assembled C64/128 and Amiga adapter at EUR 15 and AMI64 listed its assembled C64 and Amiga adapter at GBP 20. Turn the computer off before changing selectors, choose the correct computer mode, and assign each function only once. The open and AMI64 versions may need a joystick extension cable at an Amiga 600.
