Sold outChecked Jul 30, 2026Commodore4ever ATOM Power Supply Familyby Commodore4ever

Protected switched-mode replacement supplies for the C64 and round-connector VIC-20CR, with separate adapters for the C128 and Plus/4.

On 2026-07-30, Commodore4ever listed the original ATOM and ATOM v2.5 at USD 59.99 and ATOM RETRO at USD 69.99; all three were sold out. The official Plus/4 adapter was also sold out at USD 24.99. A separate live 90-degree adapter page listed a 64-to-128 option at USD 14.99, but did not expose unambiguous variant stock or identify every supported ATOM revision. The original ATOM page lists separate North American 120 VAC and European 230 VAC configurations, ATOM v2.5 lists only the North American input, and ATOM RETRO says its European version is currently unavailable. Surviving pages provide too little detail to establish exact specifications or final availability for the older PS-64 with LED and PS-64/128. Do not assume that ATOM specifications apply to those predecessor models.

AvailableChecked Jul 30, 2026Electroware C64 and C128 Power Supply Familyby Electroware

Current protected replacement supplies with separate direct-connect C64/VIC-20 and C128 versions.

On 2026-07-30, Electroware listed the eleventh-revision C64 version at EUR 46.99 and the twelfth-revision C128 version at EUR 52.99, both with dispatch in three to five days. Each has regional mains choices and an optional Adjust and Protect trim of roughly 4.9 to 5.3 V. Buy the direct version for the computer; the C64 model reaches a C128 only through a separate adapter.

AvailableChecked Jul 30, 2026Keelog C64 and C128 Power Supply Familyby Keelog

Protected regional replacement supplies for the C64, later VIC-20, and C128 in Classic, Modern, and current RetroPower enclosures.

Keelog's current family pages listed regional C64 and C128 supplies on 2026-07-30. Representative EU Classic or Modern products were USD 65.99 or EUR 57.99. Classic measures 86 by 70 by 48 mm; Modern measures 125 by 59 by 42 mm, with black and gray choices. Keelog also identifies RetroPower as the successor enclosure. Match the computer branch, connector, mains voltage, and regional plug rather than selecting by case style alone.

AvailableChecked Jul 30, 2026OVP64 Inline Over Voltage Protectorby Maker not stated; sold by Shareware Plus, Ami64, and Protovision

A compact inline MOSFET protector that disconnects a Commodore 64 supply when the monitored voltage exceeds the safe range.

Shareware Plus and Ami64 each listed the inline OVP64 at GBP 39 in 2026. Protovision listed six units at EUR 48 with a one-to-two-week shipping estimate on 2026-07-30. All three describe the same compact MOSFET design and a 5.40 V safety threshold. The public listings do not specify a response-time measurement, reset procedure, 9 VAC behavior, current rating, fuse, schematic, or designer. An older boxed OVP64 was sold by Shareware Plus, but its electrical relationship to the current inline product is not established.

AvailableChecked Jul 30, 2026Power Saver HQ OVP Xtreme V3.0by CMD marketplace

A compact semiconductor protector for the 5 VDC and 9 VAC rails of compatible Commodore power supplies.

CMD Marketplace listed four units at USD 40 on 2026-07-30. The page claims a 20 microsecond semiconductor response versus 200 milliseconds for a relay design. After a 5 V trip, its 1.25 A SMD fuse must be replaced with a soldering iron; one spare is supposed to be included. The page simultaneously displayed a USD 9 United States rate and a notice that the item does not ship to the United States, so confirm destination availability before ordering.

DiscontinuedChecked Jul 30, 2026saV64 Overvoltage Protectorby Heather (SkydivinGirl) and e5frog

A historical relay protector with alternate DC and AC inputs for several Commodore power configurations.

The surviving Round 4 sale thread is explicitly titled SOLD and dates to 2017. It offered complete kits at USD 45 and assembled units at USD 85. C64 OS repeated those prices in 2022, but that does not establish later production. The former hookturn.com user-guide URL now resolves to a parked domain. Use the preserved feature and forum specifications for identification, and search the used market rather than contacting the old seller as though stock were current.

Build itChecked Jul 30, 2026tebl C64 Power Saverby Tor-Eirik Bakke Lunde (tebl), based on Ray Carlsen's circuit

A source-available relay board that cuts the C64's 5 V supply above about 5.6 V.

The public repository was last updated in January 2020 and PCBWay retains a bare-board order route for Revision E. No explicit hardware license is published, so this is source-available rather than licensed open hardware. Revisions C and D require a documented bridge between DIN pins 4 and 5 for supplies that place 5 V on the alternate pin; Revision E incorporates that fix. A separate builder found severe thermal drift in an older Console5-derived prototype and called that build unfit for protection. Test any completed board's trip point and stability under realistic load and temperature before relying on it.
