Translates a PS/2 mouse into Commodore 1351-style analog mouse signals for the C64 and C128.

Retro Computer Store listed an assembled adapter as available for USD 16 on 2026-07-30. PCBWay exposes a through-hole fabrication route with Gerbers, a bill of materials, and programming notes. The current assembled version supports PS/2 mice and PS/2-compatible serial mice but explicitly does not support a USB mouse through a passive PS/2 adapter. A working SID analog-input path is required; some replacement SID implementations omit it.

Protovision showed 12 orange Cynthcart 2.0.1 cartridges in stock at EUR 38 with a one- to two-week shipping estimate on 2026-07-28. The maker also publishes ROMs and source for personal use, but does not permit third-party cartridge sales. The project page labels 2.01 current while also listing a 2.0.2 source reorganization, so check the included ROM revision if that distinction matters.

A source-available relay board that cuts the C64's 5 V supply above about 5.6 V.

The public repository was last updated in January 2020 and PCBWay retains a bare-board order route for Revision E. No explicit hardware license is published, so this is source-available rather than licensed open hardware. Revisions C and D require a documented bridge between DIN pins 4 and 5 for supplies that place 5 V on the alternate pin; Revision E incorporates that fix. A separate builder found severe thermal drift in an older Console5-derived prototype and called that build unfit for protection. Test any completed board's trip point and stability under realistic load and temperature before relying on it.
