The retailer describes a same-size, no-soldering drop-in replacement; that assumes the original CPU is already socketed. A soldered CPU still requires proper desoldering and a suitable socket.

Current wording names the Commodore 128(D) without separating plastic C128D from metal C128DCR; the latter normally already has 64 KB of VDC memory.
