The maker's store exposed an active order path and reported stock on 2026-07-30. Installation requires removing the original metal heatsink and carefully extracting and reinstalling the MOS 8563 with the correct orientation. The maker recommends a modern low-profile heatsink because the daughterboard raises the chip. Reaching the VDC in some C128D systems may require removing the power supply, floppy drive, and drive controller.

The assembled Tindie module was out of stock on 2026-07-24 and had been sold out since May 5, 2024. Schematics and board files remain available for commercial and noncommercial use. A 512 KB module can replace a 256 KB module where the connector is compatible, but that machine will use only 256 KB; never mix capacities within one VRAM bank.

The original $25 PurpleRAM version had been sold out since December 16, 2024. The seller said economy shipping from France to the United States was suspended and exposed only an expedited $50 route on the blue listing.
