Build itChecked Jul 27, 2026Micro-PETby Andre Fachat

Recreates several Commodore PET models on a modern single board with a faster 65816, expanded memory, color VGA graphics, USB input, and SD storage.

For this compatible system (exact system): This is the mainboard for the Micro-PET compatible system. The cassette connector supplies only 5 V rather than the PET interface's full 9 V. Custom VGA timing can limit compatibility with newer PET graphics demonstrations. The modular Ultra-CPU plus PETIO design is a related multi-board route to a similar PET-compatible system, not a complete third product.

No current assembled seller was verified. Revision 3.0A has public GPL-3.0 hardware files, but it is an advanced build with fine-pitch surface-mount parts, separately programmed FPGA and boot firmware, and dependencies across several repositories. The family documentation warns that boards, bills of materials, and firmware are moving to newer video timing and says to contact the maker before building.

Build itChecked Jul 30, 2026PET-N Mechanical Keyboard Projectby Andre Fachat

Provides source files for a Cherry-compatible Commodore PET N-type keyboard with printable supports and keycaps.

For this compatible system (exact system): The keyboard project is part of the same PET-reincarnation family and provides the matrix, extended controller, printable support, and keycap resources used by Micro-PET builds. Confirm the exact keyboard-interface and PCB revisions before fabrication.

The repository was actively updated in June 2026 and supplies PCB, firmware, support, test, and keycap files. It is an advanced source build rather than a complete retail kit. The maker built it principally for the Micro-PET and Ulti-PET family and explicitly says installation in an original PET is possible in principle but untested.
