Connects one CS/A65 expansion card to a Commodore 64 expansion port or beneath a PET's socketed 6502.

The C64 revision 1.0C is marked okay and publishes Eagle files, but it works only with the C64, not the C128, and a fitted CS/A card can conflict with long video or IEC plugs. For PETs, revision 1.1A was tested only in a CBM 8296 and had power and clearance problems. Later 1.2A and 1.2B layouts add 3.3 V power and more mounting options but are explicitly untested. A working 8296 Ethernet stack is documented. usb65 later lists PET plus adapter plus NetUSB 1.x as tested, although the older NetUSB page says its single PET-adapter test was not fully working and suspected a supply problem. Treat that USB path as experimental. No current assembled seller was verified.

RETRO Innovations does not sell assembled Link232 cartridges. The maker publishes EAGLE schematic and PCB files for builders. A separately mentioned future Turbo232-compatible revision has no documented release and is not part of this record.

Retro 8bit Shop showed one new unit in stock on 2026-07-27, while the Eagle design remains open for DIY builds. This original design switches only ATN, not every IEC signal; disabled devices remain electrically connected to CLK, DATA, and RESET and can still load or disturb the bus. The acrylic case is an accessory folded into this hardware family.

The official store exposed an active $30 listing on 2026-07-27, and the open Eagle files remain available. Cartridge combinations are not guaranteed, the two connectors at the third position share one set of switches, and the passive bus can worsen marginal signal integrity. Insert, remove, and configure hardware only with the computer powered off.
