AvailableChecked Jul 27, 2026Atarimax SIO2PC/ProSystem Interfaceby Atarimax

Connects Atari 8-bit SIO computers and disk drives to a modern host for peripheral emulation and disk transfer.

The official page showed USB and RS-232 ordering options on 2026-07-25. Select the interface and connector arrangement for the intended host software and SIO chain. An Atari SIO cable and the computer or disk-drive hardware needed by the chosen workflow are not included. The USB setup documentation is dated and lists Windows 95 through Windows 7, so confirm current host support rather than assuming modern Windows compatibility.

Sold outChecked Jul 30, 2026Enhanced Commodore 64 RS232 Serial Adapter v2by HAL's friends

Modern VIC-1011-style user-port RS-232 adapter with status lights, reset, and a software-dependent 9600-baud mode.

Tindie marked the adapter out of stock on 2026-07-30 and says it has been sold out since 2026-01-05. A DB25-to-DB9 adapter is an optional passive accessory, not a separate catalog product.

Find usedChecked Jul 30, 2026EZ-232by Jim Brain

Period user-port adapter for connecting low-speed RS-232 equipment to Commodore 8-bit computers.

The surviving builder document describes the original kit and its setup, but no current sale or complete public fabrication package was verified. Look for an original assembled adapter or kit on the used market.

Build itChecked Jul 30, 2026GLINK232 / GLINK232Tby GGLABS

Expansion-port UART family with SwiftLink-compatible GLINK232 and faster Turbo232-compatible GLINK232T forms.

GLINK232 A03 remains buildable from its schematic, Gerbers, and component-option tables. The faster assembled GLINK232T was unavailable while its Tindie seller was taking a break on 2026-07-30, and its page does not provide a complete fabrication package. The seller text misprints the top T rate as 203400 baud; the maker's overview and register table specify 230400 baud.

AvailableChecked Jul 30, 2026GuruModemby Electronics Is Fun

Adds high-speed Wi-Fi networking, file-transfer protocols, and SD-card storage to computers with a standard RS-232 interface.

The maker page exposed direct eBay, Sphere Cube, and Arcade Shopper purchase routes on 2026-07-30. Tavily could not independently extract the exact eBay or Sphere Cube destinations, recorded as WF-044 and WF-045, so confirm current stock before ordering. A user-supplied 5 V micro-USB supply is required; the SD card, serial cable, and computer-specific adapters are not included.

Build itChecked Jul 30, 2026Link232by RETRO Innovations

Open SwiftLink-compatible expansion-port UART design for connecting supported Commodore computers to DB9 RS-232 equipment.

RETRO Innovations does not sell assembled Link232 cartridges. The maker publishes EAGLE schematic and PCB files for builders. A separately mentioned future Turbo232-compatible revision has no documented release and is not part of this record.

Build itChecked Jul 30, 2026MasC=uerade Cartridge Converterby RETRO Innovations

Adapts selected simple C64 or C128 I/O cartridges to the VIC-20 expansion port.

RETRO Innovations retains a USD 11 product page and publishes the schematic and PCB artwork under CC BY-SA 4.0, but the extracted store page did not expose an unambiguous stock or Add to Cart state on 2026-07-30. Confirm assembled availability before ordering or build from the project files. The repository README's first paragraph mistakenly says the target is a C64, SX-64, or C128; its title, About text, usage section, official product page, and store page all establish that the adapter is for a VIC-20.

Build itChecked Jul 25, 2026Monster FDCby Sergey Kiselev / Weird Electronics

Open ISA controller with two floppy controllers for up to eight drives, plus optional serial and BIOS hardware.

The assembled and tested card was out of stock on Tindie on 2026-07-25 and had been sold out since January 31, 2026. Open KiCad files, Gerbers, a bill of materials, and a manual remain available. Optional 5 V-on-pin-3 jumpers are only for compatible PS/2-style floppy drives and can damage standard drives if installed incorrectly.

Build itChecked Jul 25, 2026Sergey ISA Floppy and Serial Controllerby Sergey Kiselev

Open ISA card combining a two-drive floppy controller, RS-232 serial port, and optional BIOS ROM.

The repository supplies KiCad files, Gerbers, a bill of materials, and assembly documentation rather than a retail order path. Install the 5 V-on-pin-3 jumper only for a compatible PS/2-style drive; using it with a standard drive causes a short. Version 1.0 also has a documented option-ROM switch-table error.

Sold outChecked Jul 30, 2026Simulant C64/C128 User Port to RS232 Adaptorby Simulant

Internally powered user-port adapter family for connecting a Commodore 64 or 128 to DE9 RS-232 equipment.

The product page marked the adapter out of stock on 2026-07-30. Grey, black, and white enclosures and the two speed configurations remain one functional product family. The modem, passive DB25 converter, and serial or null-modem cables are separate.

AvailableChecked Jul 28, 2026VIC-MIDIby RETRO Innovations

Adds MIDI In, Out, and Thru, RS-232 communications, programmable flash, and UltiMem-compatible RAM expansion to a VIC-20.

The RETRO Innovations store exposed an Add to Cart path at USD 65 on 2026-07-28, although its current-stock field was blank. No enclosure is included. Supply a 5-pin DIN MIDI cable and use the downloadable VIC-MIDI software; the project page also publishes EAGLE 6 design files and a bill of materials.

AvailableChecked Jul 30, 2026WiModem232 Proby CBMSTUFF.COM

Connects supported vintage computers to Wi-Fi BBSes through an RS-232 serial port.

The current Pro V2 model was in stock on 2026-07-30. It has a female DB25 connector, a color TFT screen, a printed case, faster interface buffers, and signal-state LEDs. It needs an external 5 V micro-USB supply, and the host may also need a gender changer, DB9 adapter, or correctly wired computer-specific serial cable. The older display-free and OLED WiModem232 models are discontinued and replaced by this version.
