Lotharek marks this revision discontinued. The seller says its joystick functions were tested on original Sinclair and Amstrad ZX Spectrum computers and does not guarantee clones. Media needs one active FAT16 partition, and compatibility still depends on selected firmware and correctly prepared software images. Identify the installed firmware and switch settings before using a second-hand unit.

All fourteen Rev C, Rev F, and MAX hardware variants exposed current login-or-register-to-buy paths on 2026-07-27. Rev C and Rev F use a standard floppy 5 V supply; the manual specifies at least 400 mA and says the 12 V line is unused. MAX accepts either 5 V over Micro-USB or 7-12 V center-positive DC power. Verify pin 1, drive-select jumpers, cable twists, voltage, and physical fit before connection: some computers reverse the usual 5 V and 12 V floppy-power positions, and incorrect power can damage both emulator and host. The firmware reads and writes supported images but does not reproduce variable-bit-rate protection completely; IPF and STX support is partial.

The 1.6-inch model also needs a separately sourced lithium battery and soldering work; its battery must be charged with the emulator switch in the OFF position.

The recovered 2017 discussion says to lift or cut one capacitor leg, making later restoration possible, and the author tested PAL and NTSC machines only. SECAM compatibility is unresolved. Several commenters report that later Revision D 800XL boards omit C56 or use a different layout, so identify the exact board revision and component before changing anything. The quoted 80 percent improvement is the author's subjective estimate, not a measured specification; more complete video upgrades may produce better output.

The Juicy Crumb page showed the kit out of stock on 2026-07-24. Installation replaces the CRT and analog board and requires transferring the fan wires by desoldering or cutting. Compact Macintosh CRT and analog-board assemblies contain dangerous high voltages; use a qualified technician if you are not trained to discharge and service them safely.

Turns supported Arduino hardware and a microSD reader into a single Atari 1050-compatible SIO disk emulator.

The maker says SIO2Arduino has been superseded by SDrive-MAX and is no longer actively developed, but its GPL source and detailed wiring instructions remain online. It currently emulates only one D1: drive. A build needs a supported Arduino Uno, Mega 2560/ADK, or Teensy 2.0, a compatible SD reader, the specified SdFat library, an Atari SIO connection, and configuration matched to the chosen hardware. LCD and physical controls are optional.
