Sold outChecked Jul 15, 202630Video Greyscale Kitby Juicy Crumb Systems

Adds grayscale and external VGA display modes to the SE/30, with resolutions up to 1024x768.

For this system (exact model): Built for the SE/30 and tested with stock, IIsi-based, and third-party ROMs. The maker strongly recommends recapped and adjusted logic, analog, and power-supply boards, especially when stacking PDS cards.

Human review confirmed that the 30Video Greyscale Kit was out of stock on 2026-07-15. Check the direct product page for a restock.

Sold outChecked Jul 14, 2026ADB-USB Wombatby Big Mess o' Wires

Bidirectionally converts keyboards and mice between Apple's ADB interface and modern USB HID.

For this system (bus/interface): Connects to the SE/30's 4-pin mini-DIN ADB bus so a standard USB keyboard or mouse can be used with the Mac.

The BMOW store showed the Wombat as sold out on 2026-07-14. Check the direct product page for a restock.

AvailableChecked Jul 14, 2026BlueSCSI v2by BlueSCSI project

Open hardware SCSI emulator that uses disk images on an SD card as replacement storage for vintage computers.

For this system (exact model): The official compatibility list names the SE/30. A machine using a third-party ROM SIMM may need a System file modification if it stops at the initial logo while booting.

AvailableChecked Jul 14, 2026Booster 2.0 Acceleratorby Juicy Crumb Systems

Runs a 68030 CPU and 68882 FPU at 47 MHz for roughly twice the overall performance of a stock SE/30.

For this system (exact model): Designed for the Macintosh SE/30 and offered in PGA-socket and PDS variants. The maker reports compatibility with IIsi-based ROMs and custom ROM images.

Sold outChecked Jul 14, 2026Floppy Emu Model Cby Big Mess o' Wires

Uses an SD card to emulate Apple floppy drives and, on supported systems, HD20 or SmartPort hard disks.

For this system (exact model): Macintosh floppy emulation is supported. HD20 hard disk mode on an SE/30 requires a Mac ROM-inator II replacement ROM.

The BMOW store showed this model as sold out on 2026-07-14. Check the direct product page for a restock.

AvailableChecked Jul 14, 2026ISP-SIMM USB Programmable ROMby ZigZagJoe

Provides two switchable 8 MB flash banks that can be programmed over USB without a separate ROM programmer.

For this system (exact model): Explicitly supports the SE/30 ROM SIMM socket. Some stock sockets have fit or reliability problems and may require the SIMM contact pads to be thickened with solder.

Sold outChecked Jul 14, 2026Mac ROM-inator II Carbonby Big Mess o' Wires

Replaces the stock ROM SIMM with a 32-bit-clean flash ROM, bootable ROM disk, and HD20 support.

For this system (exact model): Replaces the SE/30 ROM SIMM, enables native 32-bit addressing and HD20 support, and can allow up to 128 MB RAM. Some sockets need a fit shim.

The BMOW store showed the Carbon SIMM as sold out on 2026-07-14. It is incompatible with DayStar PowerCache and Turbo accelerators.

Sold outChecked Jul 14, 2026Mac Sync-inatorby Big Mess o' Wires

Actively converts classic Macintosh DB-15 video sync signals for use with compatible VGA displays.

For this system (bus/interface): Relevant only when the SE/30 has an expansion video card with a standard Macintosh DB-15 output; it does not convert the built-in monochrome display.

The BMOW store showed the Sync-inator as sold out on 2026-07-14. A monitor must still support the source resolution and scan rate.

Build itChecked Jul 14, 2026Macintosh SE/30 Logicboard Recreationby Bolle

Redesigns the SE/30 logic board as a buildable replacement with Gerbers, placement data, a BOM, and recreated programmable logic.

For this system (exact model): This is a complete SE/30 logic-board recreation rather than an expansion card. Low-power ATF16V8B devices do not work for the recreated PALs, and ATF16V8C devices may also be problematic.

Find usedChecked Jul 14, 2026MicroMac Carrera040by MicroMac

Period 68040 accelerator originally made for a Macintosh IIci cache slot and usable in an SE/30 only through a specialized adapter.

For this system (exact model): A documented SE/30 installation uses Bolle's PDS-to-IIci adapter plus a patched INIT. The Carrera040 itself is a IIci cache-slot card, not a native SE/30 PDS card.

Use only a proven SE/30-to-IIci cache-slot adapter and the patched software. Never insert this card into a PDS slot or PDS pass-through: the connectors fit but are electrically different, and a wrong connection can destroy the accelerator.

Build itChecked Jul 14, 2026SEthernet/30by rhalkyard

Open hardware 10/100 Ethernet card designed around a modern controller for the Macintosh SE/30 PDS.

For this system (exact model): The SEthernet/30 hardware and driver were tested on an unmodified SE/30 under System 6.0.8, 7.1, and 7.5.5. The declaration ROM must be programmed before the system recognizes the card.
